I’m Purna. I’m a Masters student at the University of Bonn, Germany.
I’m an aspiring Geospatial Data Scientist/ Geospatial Developer.
I love solving geospatial problems. This website contains my personal portfolio and also some solutions to the problems I faced when I work with spatial problems.
I work as a researcher/geospatial analyst at GESIS, Cologne and Geospatial Engineer at Ruhr-Universität Bochum
Some of my projects include:
- Developing a Semi-Automated method using Machine Learning algorithms to classify old historical maps into a digital format.
- Principal Component Analysis of hate crime data of USA, to implement dimensionality reduction.
- Using ML and neural networks to analyse the standard land values for the Cologne region, Germany.
- Developed a website to solve the problem of data management of agriculture fields’ research data. (The website is being used by the research group, Phenorob at the University of Bonn)
- Created an Android application for time travel maps of the city of Bonn, Germany. (the project is a part of the course called Location-based services.)
I code regularly, and I upload on Github

I mostly use Python, and R for Machine learning problems and Automating boring tasks. Not only these I use QIS and ArcGIS as mapmaking tools .
I also have some experience with Java for GIS development. I used SQL and have knowledge of SPARQL too.
Right now, I’m working on some side projects on using Google Earth Engine
